UPDATE ON PREVIOUS VOLUNTARY SAFETY NOTICE: AUTHENTICITY VERIFICATION CONCLUDED

Dear EclipseSpecs Customer,

On June 28, 2026, out of an extreme abundance of caution, EclipseSpecs issued a voluntary recall notice for a specific batch of solar eclipse glasses (ASIN B0GKWLVR3F) sold on Amazon Europe. This initial notice was triggered by a perceived discrepancy regarding the administrative tracking information printed on the packaging backing.

We are writing to provide a final update: The thorough authenticity verification for this batch has been successfully concluded. The physical products remain 100% safe for solar observation, and returning your glasses is no longer necessary.

1. The Results of Our Authenticity VerificationFollowing our initial notice, our compliance team immediately engaged in a comprehensive review. We want to explicitly clarify that the issue investigated was strictly an administrative verification of authenticity regarding the printed text, and not a failure of the product's safety certification.

The administrative review clarified two points regarding the packaging print:

  • Manufacturer Information: An unauthorized printing layout error resulted in incorrect manufacturer details being displayed on the paper backing. The actual authorized manufacturer for our European inventory is completely verified as ECLIPSESPECS CO., LIMITED.

  • Certificate Version Control: The packaging correctly displays the CE certificate number CE-PC-260205-121-01-9A, which is fully valid and compliant for the specific frame patterns in that batch. A temporary system discrepancy occurred because our master certificate was recently updated to version -9B solely to register additional cosmetic frame patterns with the Notified Body (CCQS). Both versions (-9A and -9B) guarantee identical, uncompromising safety standards.

2. Product Safety is UncompromisedThe optical filters contained in these specific glasses were manufactured correctly and possess fully valid and active safety certifications. They are fully compliant with EU regulations for direct solar observation. The administrative version update and the manufacturer misprint do not, in any way, affect the structural integrity, UV/IR blocking capabilities, or the overall physical safety of the lenses.

3. Administrative Resolution & Next StepsUnder relevant European regulatory frameworks, because the core product possesses valid safety certification and poses zero risk to user health, a physical recall of the items is not required. You may safely keep and use your glasses for upcoming solar events. The previous voluntary recall request for physical returns is hereby formally closed.

Verify Our CredentialsTo ensure full transparency and provide you with complete peace of mind, any customer who wishes to verify our credentials may request a digital copy of our official CE Type-Examination Certificate (Issued by EU Notified Body CCQS No. 2834) for their records by emailing us directly at support@eclipsespecs.com.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion our initial, highly precautionary approach may have caused. At EclipseSpecs, we will always prioritize your safety first, investigating every potential discrepancy with the utmost seriousness.

Thank you for your understanding and continued trust.
